Honda Reworks the“IMPOSSIBLE DREAM” Commercial

Tonight, Honda will try to catch the mood –and the shopping attention… of the Brits with a reworking of its ‘Impossible Dream’ TV commercial (scroll down to watch the original). The 2 minute spot is booked to go live at 7:50pm in the last ad break before the kick off of the match England vs Sweden. This is the biggest ad spot for many years with estimates of over 21 million viewers at home and a (…) further 6 million in pubs.

Press Release: The advert, showcasing Honda’s products through the ages and filmed as an epic journey ending in a hot air balloon over Iguasu Falls, has been given an injection of national pride. It now boasts a Karaoke underscore and England flags, at first discreetly placed, but growing in presence throughout, culminating with a Saint George Cross emblazoned on the hot air balloon and Garrison Keeler saying ‘Come on England – Keep the dream alive’.

"We just want to engage and connect with the nation as our dream in the UK is to be recognised as a company that people don’t just know for its products but also for its personality and British manufacturing base. The advert simply reflects this intent," explained Matthew Coombe, Honda’s Advertising Manager.
