Video: Near Production Chevy Volt Shown on ABC News

Chevrolet VoltIn a video report on the forthcoming Chevrolet Volt for ABC News, GM’s exterior design executive director Michael Simcoe partially lifted the veil off the one of the most recent clay models of the production Volt. As you can see by comparing photos of the concept with the latest production prototype, while not dramatically different, the Volt’s front end has been tweaked as it features modified headlights, a new bumper with a larger lower air intake and wraparound foglamps. Moreover, the front grille has a pure cosmetic role as all the air intakes have been sealed off.

We wouldn’t go so far by saying that this is what we’re going to see in 2010 (if all goes well that is) but the clay model revealed in ABC News’ video does give us a good indication to as what GM’s design team has in mind for the final product. -Video after the jump

Buyer Picks Up First Production Corvette ZR1 after Paying $1Million

We can think of more than a million ways to spend $1 million other than buying the very first production 2009 Corvette ZR1, but at least Dave Ressler’s cash went to a good cause as the money was donated to The United Way. We remind you that Dave Ressler bought the 001 Corvette ZR1 at the 008 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction in January 2008. Production of the new Corvette ZR1 that began in early July 2008 is limited to 2,000 vehicles per year, each identified with a special VIN that denotes its sequential build number. -Video after the jump

Video: Revised Camaro Bumblebee from Transformers 2 Film

Here we go again; just as we were getting used to not hearing anything about the Transformers Movie, our friendly Autobot Bumblebee from the second installation of the Tranformer film called “Rise of the Fallen” has made its way into the internet well before the movie hits the screens in summer 2009.

The film’s producers –in cooperation with GM of course- have given the Camaro based Autobot a more aggressive look thanks to a Z28-like sport treatment that includes a new front bumper with a spoiler, a hood scoop and a slightly different paint job. See more images along with a small video after the jump. -Continued

Video: Chevrolet Ridicules Citroen’s C4 Transformer Ad

You probably all remember Citroen’s illustrious C4 Transformer TV spots a couple of years ago (click here). Well, GM woke up on the wrong side of the bed one day and decided that it was time to answer back with its new Chevrolet Aveo advert. Even though the car that transforms into a robot is in part a previous generation Ford Focus, it is evident that GM’s intentions are to spoof Citroen’s Transformer ads by addressing its vehicles’ electronic reliability issues. -Video after the jump

Video: 2009 Corvette ZR1 Tops Out at 205 MPH - 330 Km/h

Imagine that; a Chevy achieving a top speed of 205 mph or 330 km/h! It goes without saying that this isn’t one of your “ordinary” Vettes but it’s the top-off-the-range 2009 ZR1. Interestingly, GM’s development team managed to video tape the new Corvette ZR1 topping out in early April at the test track in Papenburg, Germany.

Additionally, along with the release of the video showing GM also announced the official dyno numbers: the ZR1’s supercharged 6.2-liter V8 is rated at 638 Hp which is 18 Hp more than GM estimated when they first unveiled the supercar at the Detroit Show in January. As for grunt, GM said that the ZR1’s V8 delivers 604 lb.-ft. or 819 Nm of torque available at 3,400 rpm. –Video after the jump

2009 Camaro Video: GM Preparing Wide Range of Accessories

In this video, GM’s Global Accessories Design Manager Larry Sully takes us on a a behind-the-scenes tour of GM's Accessories Design Studio in Auburn Hills, Michigan. There’s a lot of interesting stuff going on there, but what really caught out attention in the video was the part about the Camaro. Even though Sully only gave us a sneak peak of the actual Camaro that his team is working on, he did reveal that GM is planning a whole series of accessories for Chevy’s muscle car ranging from grilles and spoilers to ground effects. –See the video after the jump

Greek Babe with Bikini-Top Stars in New Chevy Matiz Ad!

We know that you loved the Chevy Matiz TV ad with the sexy Greek babe that we showed you last week – if you haven’t seen it, don’t hesitate to click here. Turns out though that there’s a second Greek Chevy Matiz ad featuring the same Mediterranean hottie. Only this time she’s wearing a scorching mini shorts and a bikini top. If you watch the video really, really careful, you may also spot a red Chevrolet Matiz hidden somewhere…

Babe Shows off Gorgeous Arse in new Chevrolet Matiz TV Ad

Seriously now; this TV commercial that aired in Greece is actually about the redesigned Chevrolet Matiz. Not that we mind watching a beautiful babe showing off her tasty arse as she sensually slips into the Korean-built mini through the front window, but as hard as we tried, we just fail to see the connection between the two

Thanks for the vid Nick!

Video: 2009 Camaro Caught on Tape without Camo

Yep; the 2009 Chevrolet Camaro has been caught again unmasked. Only this time the fella that managed to capture it was holding a video device (possibly a cell phone judging by the poor quality), instead of a photographic camera. We must say however that we easily could have done without the movie-type intro and the rock and roll music… -Video after the jump

Chevy Volt Eco Ad: Don’t Bath, Let Your Dog Lick You…

Even though GM's eco-friendly ad for the Chevy Volt is supposed to be funny, we must say that we found its humor too "grotesque" for our taste. The TV ad shows a dog licking someone’s foot with the following text rolling on the screen: “If you care about the environment, you could save water and let your dog give you a bath. Chevy cares about the environment. That's why we're working on an extended range electric car expected to go up to 40 miles without a drop of gas. The Chevy Volt concept”. -Video after the jump

Video: 2009 Corvette ZR1 Photo Shoot Out

We tried to find out if GM has released any sort of promotional video on the all-new Corvette ZR1 but we’ve came out empty handed -for the time being of course…. However, we did find a video from “0 to 60 mag” that includes
scenes from the Corvette ZR1 photoshoot along with a bit of music from the Vette’s supercharged 6. V8 engine that produces 620 HP. Once your finished watching the video you can click here for high-res images and details on the 2009 Corvette ZR1 that will make its public debut at the 2008 Detroit Show in January.

Video: Driver’s View Of Corvette ZR1 Lapping The Laguna Seca

It only took… a couple of months for the guys at “Corvette Quartely” to finally release a video of the 2009 Corvette ZR1 prototype lapping the Laguna Seca racetrack back in October. And although we’ve already seen one more video (click here) this one gives us a cockpit view of the ZR1 which will be equipped with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine. Video: 2009 Corvette ZR-1 At Laguna Seca

The mystery supped up Corvette prototype that made its way in California for the American Le Mans Series season at Laguna Seca was caught on tape while performing a couple of test laps on the raceway. We’re still in the black when it comes to details but everything seems to be pointing to the long rumoured “Blue Devil” or ZR-1 version of the Vette. (See image here)

Pimp My Ride: Full episode on the 800Hp 1965 Chevy Impala that runs on biodiesel

Just in case you missed it, we dug this video of MTV’s special Earth Day episode of “Pimp My Ride” that aired on April 22, 2007. Xzibit and the GAS crew transformed a beat-up 1965 Chevy Impala SS into an environmental-friendly “bling-bling” mobile. The Bio-Rocket is fitted with a new PPE supercharged GM Duramax diesel engine that runs on B-100 biodiesel “pimping” out 800Hp and 1.400 lb-ft of torque allowing it to sprint from 0 to 60mph (96km/h) in just 3,5sec. Yeah I know, a car as large –and probably as heavy, as a small boat with a 800Hp engine isn’t exactly the epitome of ecology but whatev. Das video also includes a word or two, or three… from Gov. Schwarzenegger plus a 1/4 mile race with a Gallardo.
