Video: How to Destroy a Car Wash Machine

We’ve watched this video a dozen times but we still can’t figure out why the driver in the light blue Citroen C3 stamped on the gas pedal crashing and ultimately, destroying the automatic car wash machine. Maybe the C3 was equipped with Citroen’s quirky Sensodrive semi-automatic transmission and the driver wasn’t accustomed with the clutchless gearbox. Who knows. What we do know is that the man with the hat in front of the car was one lucky son of a gun. -Video after the jump

Video: 2010 Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon

While we’d like to see Cadillac’s new CTS Sport Wagon (see photos and details here) up close for our final verdict, we must say that the company’s global design director Clay Dean and his team seem to have done a nice job of turning the CTS sedan into a good-looking estate that manages to keep a fine balance between American drama and European style. In these first videos of the CTS Sport Wagon, Cadillac’s Global Products Director John Howell and Global Design Director Clay Dean take a walk around the new estate discussing the car’s exterior design and utility. -Videos after the jump

Lexus Nuaero Concept Study - With Video

Lexus NuaeroWhile no one would blame you if you thought that Nuaero was some sort of attempt to reintroduce the Batmobile as a Lexus, fact is that the concept study is the work of Royal College of Art’s graduate Jon Radbrink, who created the futuristic Lexus as part of his final project at the Vehicle Design course. The Lexus Nuaero is supposed to be a mid-size luxury car with an overall length of 4,730 mm or 186-in and a wheelbase of 3,300 mm. The width is 1,999 mm and the height is 1,245 mm. Radbrink supports that the Nuaero was designed to use lightweight materials helping keep its weight just over 800 kg (1,763 lbs) or roughly the same as the diminutive Smart Fortwo. -Continued

Although definitely unique, the Nuareo’s design is more about aerodynamics than looks. “My Lexus Nuaero concept proposes a new design language to communicate ecological efficiency through an architecture inspired by aerodynamics. I’ve been looking at different basic principles and ideas about aerodynamic efficiency and then combined them into a unique vehicle architecture. Usually aerodynamics is a final stage in car design, so this project kind of started where most projects finish,” said Radbrink.

One of the most distinctive features of the Nuaero is the flowing catamaran underbody that ends in a massive venturi tunnel between the rear wheels. According to Radbrink, the catamaran-style underbody was made possible thanks to the in-wheel electric motors that power the car and the hub-center steering.

Inside the Nuaero proposes a spacious interior centered around a multi-point touch screen dashboard where the driver can re-arrange the controls and information to his personal preferences.

If you like using your feet as well as your hands when driving, then you may not be fond of Radbrink’s idea of concentrating all the controls on the steering wheel. “Since the car is powered by electrical motors, there is no transmission and you brake intuitively by pushing the steering wheel away from your body,” said Radbrink. No pedals; no transmissions; no oil leaks; no rattling gasoline engines; those futurists sure know how to take the fun out driving…

Video: Gumball 2008 Lamborghini Driver Blamed for Accident that was Caught on Tape

A traffic accident involving a Ford Excursion with a large trailer that occurred on Sunday, August 10th on the I-5 South highway in California was caught on tape by one of the Gumball 3000 drivers. According to the initial SigAlert report, the Gumball driver of the black Lamborghini caused (without explaining how) the Ford Excursion to loose control, spin and finally flip over.

This is one of those videos that you watch again and again to see if you can make ends meet. We saw the video more than 15 times, and in our opinion, we can’t see how the Lamborghini was involved in the accident. Maybe it was another vehicle in front of the Lambo or perhaps even the driver of the Ford is at fault –we honestly can’t say. Either way, we hope that no one was seriously injured because the accident looked pretty scary. Check out the video after the jump and tell us what you think. -Continued

Video: Lamborghini Bucket Washed with Fountain Water in the Centre of Bucharest!

Once in a while, we all like to clean up our cars ourselves -there’s nothing wrong with that. What’s indescribably wrong is to park a Lamborghini Gallardo in the centre of Bucharest, capital of Romania, and wash it using a bucket and water from a fountain across the street! Unless the guy in the video doesn’t own the yellow-mellow Gallardo and he’s doing it just for kicks –which we seriously doubt as someone would have contacted the actual owner-, we have no option but to crown him as the royal prince of stinginess. -Video after the jump

Video: Near Production Chevy Volt Shown on ABC News

Chevrolet VoltIn a video report on the forthcoming Chevrolet Volt for ABC News, GM’s exterior design executive director Michael Simcoe partially lifted the veil off the one of the most recent clay models of the production Volt. As you can see by comparing photos of the concept with the latest production prototype, while not dramatically different, the Volt’s front end has been tweaked as it features modified headlights, a new bumper with a larger lower air intake and wraparound foglamps. Moreover, the front grille has a pure cosmetic role as all the air intakes have been sealed off.

We wouldn’t go so far by saying that this is what we’re going to see in 2010 (if all goes well that is) but the clay model revealed in ABC News’ video does give us a good indication to as what GM’s design team has in mind for the final product. -Video after the jump
