Love it or loathe it, this is Pininfarina’s latest creation that is based on the Rolls-Royce Drophead Coupe. Although we’d like to see the Hyperion in real life before we make any conclusions, we must say that these official renderings make us wonder if Pininfarina has lost its touch. In any case, the Hyperion which was created as a one-off for an unnamed wealthy car collector, will make its official debut the Concours d’Elegance classic car show at

Created in the 1930’s by the Giannini brothers Attilio and Domenico, GIANNINI was a tuning and racing firm that specialized on Fiat models. In the early 1960s the Italian company began offering tuning solutions for the iconic Fiat 500. This example that’s for sale on e-Bay here in the States is a 1966 model equipped with a modified 700cc 2-cylinder engine and according to the seller, it’s capable of going up to 100 mph or 160km/h. What make this Fiat 500 Giannini even more special -or less, depending on your point of view, is that it has been covered in NASCAR graphics mimicking Tony Stewart’s race car. -Image gallery after the jump

A one-off 1960s prototype Jaguar Le Mans race car worth an estimated £14 million (about $27 million or €18 million) will take part at the Bradford Classic this Saturday on July 19, 2008. The XJ13 that is owned by Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust (JDHT) and kept in its museum in The XJ13 prototype that features a mid-mounted V12 engine will be accompanied at the Bradford Classic by its equally famous test driver, Norman Dewis. Dewis was the man behind the wheel when the XJ13 prototype crashed on the Mira test track in 1971 at 140 mph (225 km/h) after earlier breaking the lap record at 161 (259 km/h). Fortunately, Dewis was escaped the accident unharmed. Several years later, the racing car was rebuilt by Jaguar to a specification similar to the original, using the body jigs made for its original construction. -Continued
This one-of-a-kind 1957 Chrysler Diablo Concept car that was conceived by Chrysler’s famous head designer Virgil Exner and built by the Carrozzeria Ghia in Italy, will be put up for sale at the Sports and Classics of Monterey auction to be held August 15 & 16, 2008 in California. The fully-functional soft-top convertible was built on a 1955 Chrysler 300 series chassis using a 392 cubic inch Hemi V8 with a push-button operated Torque-Flite automatic transmission. Skyrocketing gas prices had no affect to the thousands of classic car owners that filled the streets of Worcester in Massachusetts with their thundering V8 engines during the 2008 New England Summer Nationals (July 3 - 6, 2008). This was the first time that we visited the largest classic car and hot rod show in the North East, and while we were stunned by the sheer number of vehicles that took part, we must say that we were disappointed with the show itself.

Another $12 got us into the car show at Greenhill Park, Worcester on Sunday, and well, let us put it this way; we’ve never seen so many cars scattered randomly all over the place. Basically, it looked like most vehicle owners entered the park and placed their cars wherever. If anything else, it’s a pity as the New England Summer Nationals had the potential to be a truly great classic car show. -Image gallery after the jump
