Tower transmitter?
The first surprise came from the Phoenix already.
What is this artificial object in the Phoenix landing site? Is this Part of the Parachute? It seems to me a small transmitter’s antenna. That someone planted to closely observe the landing. 
Impossible?

But the parachute is a cloth, not a cylindrical body, planted within a little tower. What I see is a tall object, at least higher than wide.
He fell from heaven along with the Phoenix had to fall by gravity and the shock along its axis must remain in a horizontal position or at least bent and lying on the small rocks.
Until NASA technical explanation does not convince you and me, that are for me the first Phoenix abnormality found. Also impressive is the seamless operation of all technical details of the Lander with the historic name of the bird that rose from the ashes. The Phoenix!
